It’s been 227 (of 365) Days since we started this journey of #PrayersWrappedInQuotes! 🙏 🕯️ REFLECTION GUIDE below ⬇️

😊 as you read this! Your day is going to be awesome after spending the next 10 mins reflecting!

🕯️: Yesterday, I invited you to prepare your physical and psychological spaces for silence. Today, I invite you to continue this practice of silence.

Silence is a practice because it leads to deeper reflection and a deeper understanding of self. Silence is a way to ‘feed’ your soul. Today, I invite you to something quite radical: I invite you to a temporary “vow of silence” for a few hours, or even for a whole day. Make a decision to do it today, or schedule it within the next week.

As added motivation, you can use your vow of silence as a way to support a movement. For example, the GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, & Straight Education Network) has a day of silence in order to stand up against anti-LGBTQ bullying, which has “silenced” many in the LGBTQ community.

Give a heads up to those whom you regularly communicate with. Tell your friends, family and/or coworkers about your silent day a couple of days in advance. This will prevent any confusion on their end or frustration on yours, and should also make things easier on you.

You can use the time to journal more — remember, the wondrous sounds of life can be heard when you stop the noise in your mind. So write about this. You can also recognize your urges to break the silence. Whenever you find yourself struggling to stay silent, make note of the moment and reflect on the reason why you felt compelled to speak in your journal. This may help you learn a lot about yourself.
