🕯️ It’s weird to think about Christmas towards the end of January. But as Howard Thurman points out, the real work of Christmas begins when normal life begins. The end of January COULD actually be the best time to think about Christmas. Today, I invite you to step back for awhile and remember that the work of Christmas does not happen during Christmas time, it is when the song of angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the Kings and princes are home and when the shepherds are back with their flock, that the real work begins. I invite you to read the prayer by Thurman slowly and pausing when a word strikes you. When you’re ready, reflect deeply on the following question:
The infant Jesus lies awake in the manger. Knowing what you know about yourself, and no longer inspired by the season, what gift do you bring?
