Today we pray for the many dwelling places of God in our world. We pray for the high places, the mountains, the great views that bring man feel that God is near. We pray for the many different churches and chapels and temples and synagogues where man meets the Divine.
For Christians, we believe that where there is Love, God is there. So we pray for places where Love is borne and maintained and enriched and remembered. Pray for that particular place where you feel love the most — that is where God is.
We also believe that God is with the poor, because He is nearest to them. So pray for the materially poor and the poor in spirit. If you know someone who is poor, mention him/her/them by name in your prayer.
How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place
Music and Lyrics: Arnel Aquino SJ
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord mighty God, Lord of all
Even the lowly sparrow finds a home for her brood
And the swallow a nest for herself
Where she may lay here young
In your altars my king and my God
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord mighty God, Lord of all
Blessed are they whose dwelling
Is Your own Lord of peace
Blest are they refreshed by springs and by rain
When dryness daunts and scathes
Behold my shield
My king and my God!
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord mighty God, Lord of all
I would forsake a thousand
Other days anywhere
If I could spend one day in Your
Courts belong to you alone
My strength are You alone
My glory, my king and my God!
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord mighty God, Lord of all

Hi Eric,
I’m not sure how I have ended up on your mailing list, but I’m glad I have. God does work in mysterious ways. I am an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse and have just recently been able to finalize breaking away from the cult that held me captive for 68yrs. Even though the cult insists that no one can have a direct relationship with God – it must be through them, I’ve been blessed to have one anyway. I’m finding myself a little isolated and in need of a prayer community. Your site is a wonderful beginning. Thank You!

Thank you for messaging me, Margaret! And yes, I’m not sure how you ended up in my mailing list as well! These things happen automatically once someone signs up. I can try to check if you want and message you privately. Especially during this time of (forced) isolation and quarantine, we do need some support. Hope you find your prayer community soon! Take care!
